Crafted from white clay, this mug showcases a clear glaze that highlights the pottery's natural texture. Every step, from wedging the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, is done by hand. The item you receive will be the exact one shown in the product images. The base of the mug will be sanded smooth for a clean finish upon arrival. I explore various glazes and clays, continuously seeking the best combinations to create a diverse range of pottery in both color and form. I hope you find warmth and a touch of daily color in the harmonious blend of clay and glaze. ----- *Size and Weight* - Diameter: 9.4 cm - Base diameter: 4.2 cm - Height: 6.9 cm - Weight: 250g ----- *Waterproofing Treatment* Due to the porous nature of pottery, which can absorb moisture and sometimes lead to color staining or seepage through craquelure, all my pottery pieces undergo a waterproofing treatment before being sent to you. Once treated, our pottery does not require the initial "mezome" (soaking) process often recommended for unglazed ceramics. A simple rinse upon arrival is all that's needed before use. Pieces already treated will be shipped within 3 days. For those treated after an order is placed, shipping will occur within 5 days. - Waterproofing agent name: Flip Coat - Effects: Enhanced water and moisture resistance, reduced penetration of oils and acids, decreased staining and soiling, prevention of cracks from freezing, prevention of mold and algae growth, prevention of glaze penetration into craquelure. - Properties: Water-soluble, colorless, odorless, non-flammable, mildly alkaline. (You can find more detailed information by searching for the waterproofing agent name online.) ----- - Due to the nature of glaze colors, the mug may appear whiter under morning light or white fluorescent bulbs, and exhibit warmer red or yellow undertones under evening light or warmer light sources. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - Product images are edited to be as true to the actual item as possible.
