The color will shift from a bright gold to a coppery brown. ▴ Lightly oxidized brass can be gently scrubbed with toothpaste and water, or polished with a brass polishing cloth. For heavily oxidized pieces, purchase brass polish from a hardware store, apply a small amount to a cloth, and wipe.
