Miniature Dutch decorative brass and wooden bed pan

Miniature Dutch decorative brass and wooden bed pan. Original bed pans were filled with smouldering peat or coal and moved around underneath the blankets to warm up a bed before sleeping. Apart from this, they also have a decorative function as they were hung on the wall when not used. This item was made purely for decorative purposes and has never been filled with coal. It is in fairly good condition with surface marks due to usage and oxidation on the metal due to aging. There is a bit of tape at the bottom so that the brass does not rub against the wall when this item is hung up. The photographs are a part of the description.
