Rice bowl with white glaze and amber rim

This rice bowl is crafted from fine-grained white clay that enhances the glaze colors. A lustrous white glaze with a slightly flowing quality is applied all over, with an amber-colored glaze accentuating the rim. The clean texture, unique to the fine-grained clay, combined with the amber glaze that flowed like caramel during firing, results in a vessel that looks deliciously appealing. Although the vessel has a plump, round, and soft impression, the slightly smaller foot gives it a clean presence. The white and amber colors harmonize with any kind of food. Perfect for white rice, mixed rice, or even congee. It's also suitable for dishes that showcase delicious broths, such as agedashi tofu, Jibuni stew, or soups. Please enjoy it in various ways. All processes, from kneading the clay to forming, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are done by hand in my home studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. It has a slight heft, but this contributes to its authentic ceramic feel. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, and you can enjoy the rustic charm that comes from being handmade.
