Smooth, white earthenware clay, which makes the glaze color stand out beautifully. A crystalline glaze in a pale blue-green hue, dusted with white crystals. These two elements have been combined to create this unique hot water cup. This crystalline glaze reveals various expressions depending on subtle variations in the thickness of its application. In this firing, the crystals have formed beautifully throughout, resulting in a vessel that evokes a snowy field blanketed in falling snow. This is a rather generously sized cup for holding hot water. It has been shaped with care, focusing on a rounded form and smooth curves so that the gentle contours fit comfortably in your palms when held with both hands. Its charming, plump shape makes it an ideal cup for those moments when you wish to savor your drink, be it green tea, coffee, cafe au lait, or even soup, at a leisurely pace. You can enjoy a different drinking experience compared to cups with handles. All stages of production, from kneading the clay to forming, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are carried out entirely by hand using a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel set up in my home studio. While mass production is not possible, each piece possesses a unique character, allowing you to appreciate the individuality of handmade ceramics. The item you will receive is identical to the one shown in the product images. There are currently two items in stock. As each piece has subtle differences in size and form, photographs of both items are provided at the very end of the product images. The base of the cup will be polished with sandpaper to minimize the risk of scratching your table surfaces. In some cases, colors may seep into the crackles, or moisture may appear on the surface. For this reason, we treat all our tableware with a food-safe sealant to prevent water absorption before shipping, so there is no need for initial soaking (medome). This sealant process requires 2-3 days, which is why we set the shipping period to 5 days from the date of your order. If you do not require the sealant treatment, please inform us at the time of purchase. ・Due to the nature of the glaze colors, the cup may appear whiter under natural daylight or white light, and may show more reddish or yellowish tones under evening light or warm-toned lighting. ・Cutlery shown in product images is not included. ・We strive to capture and edit product images to be as true to the actual product as possible.
