HKMT X Blackcred Limited Edition Cyanotype Tram Ticket Notebook & Washi Tape Set

For this collaboration, Blackcred partnered with HKMT, a brand primarily known for producing washi tape. HKMT is a small creative unit from Hong Kong, aiming to promote Hong Kong culture through washi tape creations. They also design in various styles, hoping to bring a touch of joy to those who love collecting washi tape through their designs. This collaboration is based on a large collection of old Hong Kong tram tickets acquired from a collector. As always, Blackcred photographed the tickets to create film negatives, then used the cyanotype process to produce the notebook. HKMT, in their signature humorous and lighthearted style, has reimagined these nostalgic tickets, pairing them with witty advertisements to create washi tape. This set is strictly limited to 16 editions, each including a rare tram ticket, making it an absolute must-have for collectors. Cyanotype is an old photographic printing process where images are developed using photosensitive liquid, sunlight, and water. From taking the photo to the final image, everything is handcrafted. The subjects primarily focus on old Hong Kong architecture. During the cyanotype process, details in the image fade, and each creation anew coats these historical buildings with a shade of blue. From the inner pages to the outer cover, everything is handmade. The inner pages are hand-stitched, allowing the notebook to lay flat when opened. The cover is developed using the cyanotype method and then cut to form a sleeve. This design allows for the replacement of the inner pages once they are filled. Many people hesitate to use their notebooks once purchased. My hope is that those who buy my notebooks feel inspired to use them freely, and that beyond commerce, these notebooks can connect my thoughts with my customers.
