The Graphic is a British illustrated weekly magazine first published on December 4, 1869 by William Luson Thomas's Illustrated Newspapers Ltd. Thomas's brother, Lewis Samuel Thomas, was a co-founder. The Graphic shows readers various images of China as viewed by Western journalists in the 19th century. Through these images, readers can review China's social scene and people's livelihood at that time.
