They are a form of folk decorative craft made from black iron through intricate processes. The patterns of these grilles had no standardized rules, entirely dependent on the craftsman's ingenuity. Geometric patterns composed of straight lines or arcs were most common, making each iron window a unique piece of art, a "handmade bespoke" creation by the artisan. However, as machine-produced galvanized steel windows gradually replaced iron window grilles, their craftsmanship faded into history. To revive the spirit of these beautiful, handcrafted window grilles, we have utilized copper and etching techniques, thereby bringing the essence of the window grille back to life.
