There's a small story behind why we decided to represent this brand.
In late 2024, just before preparing to fly to South Korea for a meeting, a sudden lockdown was announced. Fortunately, it was lifted just before our flight, and we arrived safely in Korea. However, we suddenly found ourselves trapped in a subway car. Protesters were flooding the platform, pushing us into the car until we could barely breathe or move, almost lifted off our feet. Inwardly, we kept asking ourselves, "What do we do? Will this turn into a stampede?" We continuously encouraged each other to stay calm, find ways to breathe, keep our heads up, and most importantly, stay standing to avoid falling. After a few stops, the overwhelming crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station, and we were left shaken, tears welling up.
A few stops later, we exited the subway and unexpectedly stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' lazy and serene postures instantly calmed the storm of emotions we had just experienced. We, feeling disoriented and startled, felt as though we had firmly set foot back on solid ground.
From the bottom of our hearts, we realized how wonderful it is that cats exist in this world.
Hyejin's cat artworks are truly a treasure.
This is how an unexpected partnership came to be. 🤍

Hyejin’s style blends modern sensibilities with traditional Korean techniques, developed through a slow and deliberate hand-painting process.
We are deeply fond of the retro and nostalgic feel in his works, which strongly evoke the folk painting scrolls of Korea's Joseon Dynasty.

Every stroke meticulously outlines incredibly delicate details, creating artworks that invite prolonged admiration.
Creating art with traditional Korean craftsmanship requires immense patience. The artist applies color layer by layer with exquisite care, achieving rich depth and saturated, profound hues.
Even small details like butterflies and grasshoppers are rendered with soul and precision.

Each painting captures the presence of cats sharing our space. The cats' "unhurried pace" and "quiet companionship" embody the message the artist wishes to convey.
Hyejin frequently holds solo exhibitions in Korea and has been creating art for over a decade.

Hyejin primarily draws inspiration from his own cats, depicting them as mischievous yet sharp-eyed, embodying a perfectly "fierce yet cute" and individualistic feline spirit. This creates a sense of delightful conflict and harmony, a perfect fusion of tradition and modernity.
By incorporating contemporary artistic styles and characters, his art depicts the lives and thoughts of animals within a traditional framework.
He utilizes Korean paper, less commonly seen in the market, and the meticulous "Gongbi" (fine-line painting) technique. This paper lends a soft, warm overall tone to the artwork, while the precise Gongbi lines ensure exquisite detail and depth.

This warm feeling, this unique combination, allows the contemporary painting style to integrate seamlessly.
