⋯Chambre bleue (The Blue Room)⋯ {To us, who simply wish to live a life we love, within the world of journals and stationery} The very first salon in French history was established by Madame de Rambouillet, known as the foremost socialite of her time. It's said that Madame de Rambouillet detested the tediousness of courtly interactions but also wished to maintain social connections. Thus, from 1610 onwards, she began regularly hosting royalty and celebrities in her "Blue Room" (Chambre bleue) to discuss literature and poetry. Upon reading this, I was deeply captivated by the idea of the Chambre bleue. I decided to name this stamp after it and design a stamp for stationery enthusiasts, as a memento of the joy we find together in our shared love for stationery. In my imagination, Madame de Rambouillet's Blue Room in the 17th century is much like our journaling utopia in the 21st century. There are no prescribed rules, no need to act against one's will under duress, no pretenses, and no forced socializing. We share the small joys derived from stationery with each other, free from any ulterior motives. In this moment, I envision us like the 17th-century luminaries discussing literature and poetry in the Blue Room, indulging in a touch of refined elegance. So, what would Madame de Rambouillet's Blue Room look like after 400 years? I repeatedly asked myself… Perhaps only some broken ruins would remain, preserved as historical sites for future generations to remember. The idea of a "wall" spontaneously emerged – it had to be textured, and it had to possess a resilient character. During the design process, I experimented with walls of various shapes, sizes, and textures of ruin. Then, day after day, I repeatedly examined and contemplated each one, confirming with my own heart: Was this truly the Blue Room I envisioned? Finally, it appeared before you. Believe me, it is. Alright, I believe you know it well enough now :) Let's talk about how to use it! As always, it's perfect for creating background textures for your journal pages. Beyond just backgrounds, it can be layered with the "Mural" stamp for a delightful surprise. You can see examples of collages using these stamps in previous posts. Similarly, it pairs wonderfully with the "Salon" stamp, adding a sense of age and depth to your compositions.
