We received feedback from a customer who enjoys wearing two "Rose Brooches" in different colors as a corsage. This inspired us to consider creating a size that would be just as stunning when worn individually, and so we made it! What's a flower larger than a rose? Perhaps a peony...? And so, we've named this piece "Peony." A "corsage" is generally a brooch-like accessory featuring a floral motif. We previously hesitated to use the term "corsage" for our "Rose Brooches" due to their smaller size. However, this new piece is now comparable in size to typical fabric floral corsages, so we feel confident in using the term "corsage" at last. We've photographed it on a tray roughly the size of an adult woman's hand so you can get a sense of its scale. Like our "Rose Brooches," this piece is crafted by meticulously sewing acrylic resin petals—chosen for their translucency and ability to hold their shape—onto felt, one by one, to form a flower. While it has a full, voluminous appearance, it is surprisingly lightweight, especially considering it's made with beads! Compared to conventional silk corsages, the acrylic resin material is also more forgiving in terms of handling and storage. You might be concerned that a felt base might be too flimsy and lack structure. Rest assured, this brooch has a core sandwiched between the felt that holds the petals and the felt to which the pin is attached, ensuring its form is well-maintained. Naturally, we've selected a lightweight material for this core as well. To ensure you can wear it with confidence, we include a silicone brooch stopper. We hope you enjoy the light, translucent beauty of this Peony corsage blooming softly on your summer hat. Wearing it positioned slightly behind your ear (as shown in images 6-8) creates a balanced and elegant impression. Image 5 is shown alongside a person at approximately actual size. As the beads for the petals and the flower's center are sewn on freehand, their placement will vary slightly from piece to piece (expect variations similar to those shown in image 5).
