"Fang Yun Cup"
In the design of the "Fang Yun Cup," Natural Glaze Cultural & Creative integrates traditional and modern elements. Its dimensions are perfectly suited for our Maze Dripper, offering the option to purchase them as a set.
The straight, cylindrical body expresses a sleek and straightforward aesthetic, while the expansive, flat surface provides an ideal canvas for showcasing the distinct characteristics of various glazes, revealing the unique beauty of each.
The "pie kou" (flared rim), a classic cup design with a long history, is not only aesthetically pleasing but also enhances the drinking experience. This subtly outward-curving rim perfectly contours to the lips, allowing you to feel the beverage glide smoothly from the cup as you sip.
The "fang ba" (square handle) is also a traditional design element. We've reinterpreted the classic square handle with a design featuring a flat top and a slanted bottom, creating a distinct visual profile. This angular handle is also exceptionally comfortable to grip.
With a moderate capacity of 240ml, it's highly versatile for both tea and pour-over coffee bags. A thoughtful detail is the internal crease line around the 200ml mark, offering a simple visual cue for capacity, making usage more intuitive.
This design, with its large, uninterrupted flat surface on the cup wall, allows our artisans greater freedom to experiment with glaze applications.
"Wood Firing"
Wood firing is one of the oldest ceramic firing methods, primarily using wood as fuel. It requires four days of firing to reach the target temperature. The ash and oils from the burning wood become the unique outer layer of each wood-fired piece, known as "luo hui" (fallen ash).
The artistic value of wood firing speaks for itself. The distinctive fallen ash in wood-fired ceramics ensures that no two pieces are exactly alike, making uniqueness its most revered quality. Thus, wood-fired creations best showcase the artist's personality and highlight the collector's discerning taste.
Wood firing can be broadly categorized into unglazed and glazed firing. Unglazed firing involves firing the clay body directly without any glaze, revealing the most rustic texture of wood firing. Glazed firing, on the other hand, builds upon the natural fallen ash of wood firing by adding various glaze effects, resulting in a myriad of artistic outcomes.
Beyond its artistic merit, wood-fired ceramics, due to the natural carbon adhesion during firing, make water and tea taste sweeter and purer. This inherent functional benefit elevates wood-fired pieces beyond mere aesthetic appreciation.

If a piece you like is purchased by someone else, we apologize, but you will need to choose another item from our collection. Please feel free to contact the designer to see if a similar piece is available.
* Dimensions are measured by hand and may have a margin of error within 0.5 cm.
* Pieces may exhibit some marks from the crafting process, as they are all handmade or semi-handmade. These are normal operational traces.
* During the firing process, the natural distribution of glazes and ash deposits is normal and is precisely what Natural Glaze emphasizes – the inherent nature of ceramics. If you have any questions about the product, please send us a private message.
* Product colors are represented as accurately as possible, as they were photographed in a studio with adjusted lighting and environment. No post-production editing was used. Please refer to the actual product for color accuracy, as variations will not be considered defects.
