This "Ke Zhuang Hong" (Hakka Red) originates from a third-generation Hakka tea artisan returning to their hometown. The Jin Xuan tea leaves, grown in Sanwan, Miaoli, are influenced by the local terroir. The Jin Xuan tea plants unexpectedly attracted the favor of the Oriental Leafhopper. The tea leaves, bitten by the insect, are then processed into a fully fermented black tea. The resulting tea liquor boasts a surprisingly sweet aroma, complemented by the mellow fragrance and lingering finish of an Oolong tea.
