This is the culmination of three years of dedicated effort: It is with great joy that we recently presented the beautiful results of the Wish Fulfillment Tree's long cultivation to the Supreme Guide, the Greatly Gracious Root Guru, His Holiness Sakya Trizin. The reason for creating this mandala: When practicing mandala offerings, I always rushed through them, my focus drawn to the recitation and the piling of gems (or rice), and I could never visualize the image of each offering clearly. This led to the idea of creating a three-dimensional mandala: to give form to each offering. This idea was affirmed and praised by many masters: "Because many fellow practitioners, and even masters, find it difficult to visualize clear mandala offerings, this will help many practitioners improve in their contemplation." Many masters said this in unison. Furthermore, each time we offered a mandala to masters, requesting teachings or praying for their long life and continued presence, the cost of three-dimensional mandalas made in Nepal was prohibitive.
