Depending on the size and shape of the timber, small pieces often remain that cannot be used for furniture. It is not always possible to make effective use of every offcut generated during production. When we try to create small items from these pieces, it becomes difficult to secure the material safely to the machines, making machining dangerous. Additionally, because the processing method must be adjusted for each individual piece, it requires more time and effort than you might imagine. For this reason, even though the wood is still perfectly usable, it is often difficult to repurpose, and as a result, many offcuts are inevitably discarded. "If possible, I don't want to waste such precious wood." Even though we are makers, there were times when I felt like we were wasting precious timber. "Is there any other way we could bring these offcuts to life?" Driven by that thought, I considered forms that could naturally utilize these offcuts, aiming for something that uses few parts and a simple structure, yet makes you want to use it every day. With that in mind, I arrived at the shape of this filter holder. ― Display your coffee filters with style Coffee filters are something we use every single day. Instead of taking them out of the bag each time, I wanted to create a way to keep them in a place where they can be picked up quickly whenever needed. We finished it in a simple design to allow for just that. Because we have embedded a magnet on the back, it can be attached to refrigerators, microwaves, or other surfaces where magnets adhere. By attaching it to your kitchen, the filters themselves become a display, and you can enjoy the warmth of the wood. * Magnets do not adhere to every type of refrigerator, microwave, etc. * Depending on the material of the installation surface, it may not be possible to attach the item. ― Enjoy the combination of woods We use Japanese mountain cherry for the front and back panels, and black walnut for the side parts. By intentionally combining different species, the gentle hue of the mountain cherry and the deep tone of the black walnut act as accents to one another. It is precisely because of this simple structure that the differences in grain and color unique to each wood are clearly visible. For the finish, we apply a walnut oil finish. This keeps the natural texture of the wood as intact as possible, and a unique pleasure of using solid wood is watching the color and luster change little by little the more you use it. ― Product Details * Size: Width 170mm x Height 28mm x Depth 23mm * Front/Back: Japanese mountain cherry * Sides: Black walnut * Finish: Walnut oil finish * Magnetic type * Coffee filters are not included Because natural wood is used, there are individual differences in grain, color, and knots.
