From the Castlevania Series - Medusa
The feeling when trying it on is quite wonderful.
Though another colleague suggested releasing it based on "Succubus" from Castlevania,
as the image seems to align that way, haha.
But after some thought, I decided to stick to my original intention and feature Medusa as the protagonist.
After all, this series is still based on my personal vision of fantasy themes.
"Medusa"
As widely known, she is predominantly depicted as a Gorgon, a legend passed down for centuries.
She is often portrayed with a rather "terrifying" concept in various artworks.
But how many people know that,
in mythology, Medusa was a priestess of Athena,
carrying a mission to redeem her family.
Yet, within Athena's temple, she was violated by Poseidon!
Athena, in her great rage, did not blame her uncle,
but instead blamed Medusa and cast a curse upon her,
causing Medusa to self-exile to the ends of the earth.
Her petrifying ability became an indelible brand that followed her ever since.
For decades, in the garden of Medusa at the world's end,
within a castle surrounded by stone statues of those who attempted invasion.
She was eventually beheaded by Perseus,
her head embedded on Athena's shield,
becoming her most formidable weapon...
This is a tragedy, and Medusa's final resting place.
In its presentation, the theme centers on Athena's shield, and upon it
is the proud and beautiful expression Medusa held when she was still a "priestess."
For the chain, the coiling of the snake's body is subtly emphasized,
and Athena's curse is depicted as flames.
Even though the image of the Gorgon Medusa will continue to be passed down for centuries,
I hope this offers an opportunity for everyone to know her better.
A tragic yet beautiful, cruel yet innocent demon - Medusa.
