|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"The human nurtures jade for three years, and jade nurtures the human for a lifetime."
Crystals possess a powerful energy field but require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, has a gentle and soft nature. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been discovered in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate (NaAl[Si2O6]), often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron. [2]
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with presence in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout life, from childhood to adulthood and old age. It plays a crucial role in maintaining health and longevity and is an indispensable macronutrient.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is essential for maintaining normal physiological functions, preventing cardiovascular diseases, and helping regulate blood sugar. The body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For type 2 diabetics, it can increase insulin sensitivity. For overweight individuals, it aids in controlling cholesterol and blood sugar. Those under high stress lose chromium faster than average, making these three groups particularly in need.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an indispensable trace element for the human body. An adult typically contains 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel excreted mainly through feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another category of protective trace elements in the body, also found in jadeite. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent age-related illnesses.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macronutrient essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal nerve and muscle function, with both elements working synergistically. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation and is linked to various chronic diseases, especially cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that people who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower cardiovascular mortality rates. Therefore, normal blood magnesium levels are associated with a lower risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." An adult typically contains 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% located in red blood cells; other cells also require iron to function properly.
Medical research reveals the remarkable therapeutic capabilities of jadeite. Long-term wear can not only prevent diseases but also alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Longhan" and "Shenfu" acupoints on the chest, achieving a lasting effect through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the effects of "clearing middle-course heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, fortifying the five zang organs, calming the spirit, promoting blood circulation, and sharpening the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of various bodily organ functions.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, are in direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite enter the body through this contact, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling Relief: Jadeite's inherent coolness provides a therapeutic and soothing sensation, offering relief from heat. During the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xuanzong's consort, Yang Guifei, would hold jade in her mouth during summer for relief from the heat, marking a cool summer tradition. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants all serve to combat the summer heat.
The reasons above are evidence-based. Another, less tangible reason, is the inexplicable sense of comfort and healing derived from looking at jadeite when feeling down or stressed, as if offering solace.
