The nib is a dual-tone steel German goat BOCK #250 (#6) nib, handcrafted by Old Goat artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing distinct line variations reminiscent of a brush pen. The total weight is approximately 48 grams. Hand-Adjusted Calligraphy Nib: 1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first use an ink dropper and break in the nib for a period before using a converter. 2. If the converter causes ink flow interruption, check your writing angle. Both iridium points should touch the paper simultaneously; avoid writing on one side. If ink flow still interrupts, check if paper fibers or debris are stuck in the nib slit. 3. Remove the converter and try filling the pen using the suction method. 4. Wash the nib first. If you write with one side of the iridium point favored, or apply excessive pressure, it can easily cause iridium point misalignment, creating uneven height differences that scratch the paper and trap debris in the slit. 5. Calligraphy nibs are adjusted from EF nibs to have a curved tip. Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by the angle of the pen holder, utilizing the nib's curvature to create different line widths. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, resulting in thinner lines. The more the pen is tilted, the larger the contact area, producing thicker lines.
