It is made by recycling plastic and can be recycled again and again without losing quality. Does it compare to other materials in terms of strength and durability? Econyl has the same strength and durability as regular polyamide. It is elastic, lightweight, soft to the touch, requires no special care, and retains its shape well. Products made from Econyl maintain color 100% and have guaranteed resistance to chlorine and UPF 50+ sun exposure. What are the other advantages of Econyl? Producing 10,000 tons of Econyl saves 70,000 barrels of crude oil, prevents 57,100 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and reduces the impact on climate change. The use of Econyl conserves natural resources and saves the planet from tons of plastic waste. How is it made? Econyl production does not require the use of new natural resources. It is made by recycling plastic collected from the ocean. Divers collect plastic waste from the ocean and sea, which is then transported to a factory, where it is sorted, cleaned, and processed into pellets that are used to create Econyl fibers at temperatures above 300 degrees Celsius. The product is packaged in a convenient reusable bag. Base composition: 78% recycled polyamide (Econyl), 22% elastane.
