Taiwan is home to up to 27 species of the *Tongeia* butterfly family, remnants of the ice age. They inhabit only the misty forests of mid-to-high altitudes. When at rest with wings closed, they reveal simple shades of gray and brown. However, when their wings are spread, the wing surfaces shimmer with brilliant, dazzling metallic hues of green, blue, and pearl, earning them the name "living jewels of the misty forest." The *Tongeia w-album* butterfly, also known as the Western Green-banded Blue, exhibits distinct color differences between males and females. This design is inspired by the male butterfly, with its wings dusted with silver powder, creating a captivating shimmer with every movement. Total length approximately 4cm. These are handcrafted earrings, with elements drawn from original hand-painted watercolor art. The accent stones are Lemon Quartz.
