[Gentle Reminders] *Pure tin should avoid contact with strong acids and alkalis (such as bathroom cleaners) to prevent degradation. *Pure tin will slowly oxidize in the air, deepening in color over time (much slower than silver or copper). Regular wiping is usually sufficient for maintenance. You can also use mugwort (available at Chinese herbal stores) soaked in soapy water to gently rub the surface of the tinware for added luster. However, oxidation cannot be completely removed. (This particular piece has some lacquering and gold leaf application, so water washing and rubbing are not recommended; simple wiping is best. If water cleaning is necessary, ensure the item is dried thoroughly afterward to prevent water marks and oxidation.) *Due to the un-coated design of pure tin products, the surface color will naturally change with use and handling as it oxidizes.
