Even though I already have many in my wardrobe, I always buy new ones every year! Since I ventured into the world of vintage, besides bags and small accessories, I also keep an eye out for scarves. This is because vintage designs are more timeless, and the prices are always more affordable than modern pieces... However, it's unfortunate that finding a vintage scarf in good condition and desirable quality is definitely harder than finding a bag! After all, textiles are more difficult to maintain than leather. So, the vintage scarves I manage to acquire each year are usually only a few... Therefore, if you're looking for a vintage scarf, seize the opportunity when you see one, as it's highly unlikely you'll find the same style or color again. ⚐⚑˒˒ This is a pure wool shawl scarf made in Italy. It's lightweight with fine wool, not too thick, and suitable for the weather in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Made in Italy, and it's reversible! Medium gray X dark gray, can be used on both sides. Cool tones are versatile for both men and women! The entire scarf features a full-patterned large Triomphe motif! It's a pre-owned item but in excellent condition, with no obvious flaws other than minimal signs of wear. There are no noticeable snags, loose threads, or discoloration issues, nor any pilling. It retains its original Celine tag area. As you know, regular brand scarves are not cheap, and finding one with a large pattern and in a cool tone is rare. The gray is incredibly beautiful! Most pre-owned items from past eras were✦ handmade, imbued with the warmth of craftsmanship before the prevalence of machines. The artisan skills of major brands are many times more meticulous than those of machines; every process is exquisitely crafted! However, today, most processes are machine-made with manual assembly. Machine production lacks the same level of detail. The most direct and visible comparison can be made by placing a recently reissued monogram pattern from a brand next to the genuine monogram from an older vintage piece. The level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is completely different. If you love monograms, you should seek out pre-owned pieces! Truly! In terms of style, older eras featured✦ simpler, timeless, and enduring designs. Many current new models are actually remakes of older styles. However, new models are priced higher than older ones. Furthermore, new designs are typically based on or modified from older styles. Ultimately, the design complexity of new models tends to exceed that of older ones. As we grow older, we come to understand one thing: simplicity endures!! The quality of materials in older pieces is also superior to new ones. If you understand✦ leather, you can see it. The materials used in new models are often inferior to those of older pieces. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality raw materials is too high today, and their availability is limited. Moreover, brands in the past had very high standards for their finished products. The difference between new and old can be most easily seen in the✦ hardware. The hardware on many new bags oxidizes and changes color after only a year or two of use. However, older models typically do not. In addition to the use of premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K gold! Therefore, even bags produced in the 60s and 70s still have gleaming hardware today! Among the brands I know, none of the new bags available today have hardware made of K gold. Therefore, vintage is truly a case of "buy early, enjoy fully; buy late, pay more" (this is not an advertising slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...). This is based on personal experience; I regret not getting into the vintage scene earlier for many collections. I can no longer find them, and even if I could, the astronomical prices make them unaffordable... Apply a small amount to genuine leather for cleaning and to add moisture. It's not necessary to apply it after every use; periodic application is sufficient. My habit is to give my bags a little TLC when I'm organizing my closet at the change of seasons (which makes seasonal changes a major undertaking...|||). The leather on pre-owned bags is inherently excellent. As long as they are not used roughly and are stored properly, they can easily last another ten years and be passed down to your daughter!
