The air plant variety featured here is the - Bouquet Sprite (Tillandsia ionantha v. stricta). The reddish hue on the Sprite is a blush from sufficient sun exposure during its blooming period; normally, it appears green. It blooms with small, tubular purple flowers. If the plant is already flowering, those with buds will be prioritized for shipping. We will not provide further notice once flowering plants are sold out. Its small size means it doesn't take up much space, and its charming, ever-changing appearance makes it a must-have for air plant enthusiasts. The Bouquet Sprite exhibits a rosette-shaped green leaf arrangement, with strap-like, radiating leaves. Different varieties bloom in different seasons. Depending on the species and care environment, the leaves will display distinct colors before flowering. Once mature, it flowers once a year. After blooming, the leaves gradually return to their original color, and new pups will emerge. Due to the multitude of similar-looking Sprites, it can be difficult to distinguish between specific types based on appearance alone. However, their care requirements are generally the same across all varieties. They are drought-tolerant yet appreciate water, thrive in well-ventilated conditions, and benefit from good airflow at their base when placed in a pot. When watering, mist the entire plant. Fertilizing with a liquid fertilizer diluted 1,000 times weekly is recommended. Avoid prolonged exposure to rain where possible, though occasional light rain is acceptable. Leaf tips may dry out if the plant is underwatered. They prefer at least half a day's sun, with overhead shade. Insufficient light will lead to less vibrant colors. They tend to clump readily. If you intend to grow them as a clump, consider trimming old roots. Good ventilation is even more critical when they are clumped. Carefully remove any dead leaves. At this stage, hanging cultivation is recommended. Assess the parent plant's weakening to determine when to separate pups. Too many pups can increase the risk of rot if ventilation is inadequate. | Water | Winter: Water sparingly (every 4 days to a week). Summer: Adjust frequency based on temperature (approximately every 1-2 days). | Environment | Ensure placement in a well-ventilated environment to allow excess moisture to dissipate after watering. They do not require soil, and it is crucial to prevent water from accumulating at the roots.
