The fire lit by the soldiers guarding the palace gate burns through the night and fades away during the day. This poem captures a love that, much like that fire, flares up in the night and fades away unseen during the day. Inspired by this verse, I envisioned the golden light shimmering in the darkness of night and the feelings that continue to burn deep within the heart. By layering black and gold silk threads in an alternating pattern, I have crafted this piece in a checkered motif. The brilliance of the gold set against the darkness of the night expresses a deep, hidden affection. ____________ With every movement, a gentle rustle. Kinone (The Sound of Silk) A series of swaying earrings designed to celebrate the beauty and delicate movement of silk thread. Beautiful even when turned over. Because these earrings sway, they have been carefully finished on both sides. A spiral pattern is embroidered stitch by stitch onto white crepe fabric, ensuring beauty even from behind.
