If you are particular about the current condition of the plant, please message the designer to request photos. 🔥🔥🔥 Uyu Jade Cactus (Scientific Name: Lophophora williamsii), also known as Uyu Jade, Williams' Cactus Ball, and commonly as the thornless cactus, is a small, spineless cactus species native to the Americas. It is a perennial plant belonging to the Cactaceae family. The Uyu Jade cactus has a slightly spherical appearance, with its surface covered in green or brown thread-like filaments that make it look incredibly soft. These filaments help the plant absorb moisture and nutrients, while also providing protection. Its cute, thornless, and fuzzy appearance makes it widely adored. Uyu Jade and its relative, Gyokuro Jade (Gin-kan-gyoku), contain psychoactive alkaloids such as mescaline (3,4,5-trimethoxybenzeneethanamine), which can induce hallucinations. Indigenous peoples of the Americas have used the Lophophora genus for ritualistic and medicinal purposes for centuries. However, excessive consumption can be life-threatening, so please do not attempt to eat it! Also, keep it away from pets! It typically takes 6 to 10 years for Uyu Jade to grow from seedling to flowering maturity. All Lophophora species grow extremely slowly. Because the taproot is prone to rot, a highly well-draining substrate is essential, and the plant should be placed in a partially shaded environment. Avoid overwatering to maintain the plant's compact form; excessive watering can cause the plant to crack or rot. During winter, it should be kept completely dry, cool, and with good ventilation. | Care | The Uyu Jade cactus is a very easy-to-care-for plant. It can adapt to various environments and does not require excessive sunlight or water. Typically, watering once a week is sufficient. However, during summer or dry climates, the watering frequency may need to be increased. This cactus species is also quite cold-hardy and can grow in low temperatures, but it requires extra warmth when temperatures drop too low. | Flowering | The flowers of the Uyu Jade cactus are exceptionally beautiful, typically blooming in spring or summer, usually between March and May, and sometimes extending to September. The flowers are a delicate pale purple or pale pink, exuding great elegance. However, the blooming period for this cactus is not long, lasting only a few days to about a week. After the flowering period ends, the blooms will wither.
