【Introduction】
Teacher Lin Xi's most cherished poetry collection!
Are these poems?
Yes, they are poems with visual effects, where poetry resides within images and images within poetry. Since high school, Lin Xi has been fascinated by modern poetry. Even after embarking on a career in lyric writing, he has always yearned to infuse the essence of modern poetry into his lyrics, sometimes even composing lyrics as free verse, such as Faye Wong's "Face" and "Hypnotize." As the saying goes, "Poetry may end, but love poems linger."
This collection, "Ten Directions, One Thought," is akin to the process of feeling, imagining, and comprehending, much like writing lyrics without the constraints of musical notes, melodic structure, arrangements, or singability. Thoughts surge and ebb in the mind, a beautiful chaos.
Thus, in a world that often seeks security through conformity, these verses, forced into a defined structure, have two possible paths forward.
One: The "Lyric Liberation Form."
Two: The "Record of Thinking Lines."
The cover of this collector's edition, with its design of swirling poetry evoked by words, is printed on delicate, slightly translucent art paper. It creates an effect of wind lifting a curtain, highlighting the exquisite thread-bound spine and embodying the concept of "all worlds within a single thought"—the reality that exists between the seen and the unseen.
"Ten Directions, One Thought," Lin Xi's most beloved poetry collection (bar none), invites readers to step beyond lyrics and enter a realm of refined words.
Scavenging. A Decade
What is trash, you ask?
Its residual value lies in
rediscovering the illegitimate child
who holds many secrets.
And are we not also living a scavenger's life?
Every day, we bend and stoop, as if picking up discarded wrappers from the street,
piecing together the intimate stories of others' lives,
contrasting them with our own sense of meaning.
It's like seeing gold within a pile of charcoal dust,
sentences built from refuse.
They say life doesn't have many decades.
Ten years ago,
words I couldn't comprehend.
Ten years later,
things I'd rather not understand.
One thought, trash.
One thought, treasure.
A shift in perspective, like poetry.
And so it is.
