**| Introduction |**
Pottery, a fundamental craft, is shaped through the synergy of a spinning wheel and skilled hands. Clay transforms into everyday vessels, revealing symmetrical and graceful forms. This class will guide you through essential wheel-throwing techniques, alongside insights into pottery and materials. With steady hands and consistent rhythm, let's embark on a journey of self-healing 🫶🏻.
**| Course Content | Minimum 2 participants, Maximum 4 participants**
This course begins with the fundamentals of wheel throwing, guiding you from scratch. We'll cover materials, equipment usage, and every step of the throwing process: centering, opening, widening, raising, shaping, removing excess clay, and finishing. Each step will be practiced thoroughly, so beginners need not worry 😌.
The foundational forms will include straight-wall cups, bowls, and plates.
You are welcome to explore variations based on your individual feel and practice.
You will complete at least one piece. Choose a single glaze color from our selection, and KO CERAMICS will handle the trimming and glazing for you after the course.
| Add-on options for glazing and trimming are available on the day |
• Wheel Throwing & Glazing (Additional 40 minutes per session): To fully grasp the pottery-making process, after completing the first session and waiting for bisque firing (2-3 weeks), a separate appointment will be scheduled to guide you through glazing techniques. You'll glaze your piece personally 🫶🏼.
• Wheel Throwing & Trimming (2-2.5 hours per session): Understand the wheel-throwing process. After the first session, schedule a subsequent class to learn trimming techniques after the piece has dried for one week. You'll trim the piece from your first session.
