Brass Care Instructions: Brass has long been a popular material for jewelry due to its affordability and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass can oxidize, darkening in color when exposed to moisture, sweat, and air. While some appreciate this natural patina, here’s how to maintain its original luster: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a zip-lock bag when not being worn. If the luster fades, here are a few simple methods to restore your brass jewelry to its former glory. Please note that while color can be restored after wear, the original shine may not be fully recovered (the matte, antique brass finish is also beautiful!). ♦ Gently scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing your teeth. This can restore brass's shine.
