Each opal is unique, making it highly collectible. Opals come in various types, including black opal, white opal (precious opal), fire opal, and boulder opal. Opals are composed of silica spheres. These spherical structures are invisible to the naked eye and can only be observed under an electron microscope. The color variations are caused by the diffraction and interference of light with these spheres – a fascinating dance of light and structure! **Opal Care and Storage** If you have purchased an opal or pearl, please pay special attention to avoiding excessively humid or environments with significant temperature fluctuations. Temperature and humidity can accelerate the decomposition or oxidation of organic gemstones. Due to their hardness and formation, it is also advisable to avoid hot springs and baths, as well as products containing cleaning agents. Opal is a delicate gemstone that benefits from a touch of moisture. Therefore, we do not include desiccants in the storage pouch. Of course, like other gemstones, avoid wearing them during showers or while visiting hot springs. Do not use silver polishing cloths to clean opals; instead, use a clean, dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth. We will provide a jewelry polishing cloth. After wearing, gently wipe the ring clean and store it in the gemstone pouch. For all natural gemstone and metal jewelry, it is not recommended to wear them during hot spring visits or showers, as chemicals can cause adverse reactions. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, bleach, and do not store jewelry in bathrooms or kitchens, as this can accelerate oxidation. For sterling silver or gold jewelry, when not in wear, try to minimize exposure to moisture and air. Wipe clean with a dry cloth or the provided polishing cloth, then store in a PVC zipper bag.
