Ammonite is a fossil from a creature that lived during prehistoric times. The name “ammonite” is derived from the name of an Egyptian god, Ammon, who took the form of a ram.
With time their bodies fossilized into very beautiful stones and became a very beautiful home ornaments and collectibles.
I make these perfect lines in precious woods, in mosaics technique - marquetrie. I carefully choose most beautiful wood sheets (veneers) and cut each piece separately. Then I add it to the mocaics. This is only hand work, no machines at all!
After careful polishing and finishing, wood becomes shiny and irridescent, this is very beautiful and attracts attention.
Every piece is unique, like in nature. I cannot make two similar Ammonites, because wood is a nature material, always slightly different.
