Celine vintage bag and handkerchief box set (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎), 100% authentic pre-owned vintage product! If you have any questions, please message before placing an order. All sales are final. It's likely not widely known that many brands have exclusive, licensed products manufactured specifically for the Japanese market, and these are often very affordably priced! If you've traveled to Japan, you'll know that department stores are filled with a wide array of local specialties and souvenirs. I'm not referring to the food items typically found in the B2 basement levels, but rather the items on the upper floors. Many brands have licensed specific products, unique to Japan and not even available through the brand's main sales channels. For instance, in earlier times, Celine licensed several Japanese textile companies to produce a range of textile goods, including various home and lifestyle items that are incredibly practical. These were sold at very friendly prices, making them perfect for both gifting and personal use, and significantly different from the price positioning of the brand's boutiques. However, Celine's licensing agreements with these Japanese companies have long since expired, so even if you visit Japan now, you won't be able to find them anymore... These are Japanese limited editions that have been completely discontinued for many years, much like the vintage bags. Once they're gone, they're gone! As a small aside, the reason for these licensed products emerging was that luxury brands began to look towards Asia. Japan's economy was booming, and it was likely the most "affluent" market in Asia at the time. As many brands entered Japan, they made arrangements that considered the local culture. The Japanese gift-giving culture is extensive; anyone who watches Japanese dramas knows how frequently people give gifts there. It's common to give gifts often, and it's considered polite to do so. Japan already had many factories producing products suitable for various gifting occasions, with mature technology and unique offerings. Therefore, many brands entered into licensing agreements with Japanese companies for self-production. These gift box sets were typically sold only in department stores and were very popular in Japan due to their appealing presentation. Having a "brand" name made them suitable for gifting to relatives, friends, or superiors. . . . ⚐⚑˒˒CELINE large square handkerchief + cosmetic pouch set. The complete set includes a small storage pouch and a square scarf, all within its original gift box! This cosmetic case-style storage pouch is a relatively rare item within this type of set, and it's in new condition, complete with its original gift box! Having the original gift box is exceptionally rare; usually, they are found already opened and without the box. The box itself is black and red with gold foil stamping – absolutely beautiful! The small storage pouch is designed as a charming hand-carry cosmetic case. It's a cute, miniature version of the popular cosmetic bags seen in recent years. It can be customized by adding a clasp (on both sides of the bag) to attach a chain or a leather strap, allowing it to be used as a shoulder bag or a crossbody mini bag. If you require customization, I can do it for free. Please message me or leave a note with your order; otherwise, no customization will be done without specific instructions. This type of small storage pouch is intended for organizing small items, such as cosmetics, jewelry, loose change, cardholders, keys, or small papers. The embossed vintage C logo on the bag is exquisite. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice a subtle, low-key shimmer. The surface is flawless because it's brand new. It makes for an incredibly cost-effective birthday or special small gift! The entire gift box is a delight to behold, exquisitely crafted. A rare, brand-new BOX SET (anyone receiving this would be overjoyed!) Regarding handkerchiefs, I imagine most customers in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan only used them more frequently in childhood, resorting to tissues as they grew older. However, the Japanese handkerchief culture (yes... it has evolved from a mere item into a culture) is deeply ingrained from childhood and has never changed! In Japan, whether it's children, adults, or the elderly, a handkerchief is a basic necessity carried by almost everyone. This is due to various factors, likely including environmental consciousness, maintaining a presentable appearance, and politeness. You can find more details online if you search; I won't elaborate too much here. In short, if you live in Japan, the only people without a handkerchief are likely non-Japanese. Japanese handkerchiefs are produced with extremely high technical skill. Don't let the small size fool you; upon close examination, you'll find exquisite details that are truly remarkable! Examples include two-tone double-sided embroidery, hidden embroidery, the use of subtly different shades of the same color thread to create a lustrous effect, gold and silver foil stamping, colored foil stamping, and more. There's also a wide selection of materials, from soft cotton gentle enough for a baby to breathable linen perfect for summer and quick-drying. The patterns are not only intricate, but the details are such that even after many washes, the colors won't fade, and even the foil stamping won't lose its sheen! Many are so beautiful they resemble works of art and could even be framed as decorative pieces. The most significant point is that many of these techniques are unique to Japan. Even the more expensive silk scarves produced in Europe by the brand today don't have as many intricate details as a single small Japanese handkerchief. But you might ask: "What am I supposed to do with a handkerchief if I don't use it for cleaning?" The uses for a handkerchief extend far beyond wiping your mouth or drying sweat. They can be used as decorative accessories! You can hang them on your bag or tie them around it. This practice is excellent for preserving both designer and pre-owned bags. Especially with vintage items, their greatest value isn't in the purchase price but in their increasing rarity in the world. Therefore, using them should also involve a habit of protection. Hanging one on your bag adds a small decorative touch, and tying one around the strap can directly protect the most frequently used and easily worn areas, keeping them clean and preventing accidental damage. I personally experienced this once at a workshop when the person next to me accidentally spilled dye on my bag strap. Fortunately, I had habitually tied a scarf around my strap! My bag was saved that day, although there was an ink stain on the scarf that couldn't be washed out... but I'd much rather it be on the scarf than on the strap! For excessively long straps, a handkerchief can also be used to adjust the length (I have details on how to tie it). My most frequent use, however, is for home decoration. A long time ago, I started using large scarves or handkerchiefs to cover idle decorative items at home, primarily for dust protection. My home gets very dusty, and anything left in one place for two days will accumulate a thin layer of dust. When the cover cloth gets dusty, I simply take the whole piece off to wash, which is convenient. Covering items with plain fabric or handkerchiefs can look a bit strange visually (like a house is uninhabited and covered in cloth)... so I've always had a habit of using scarves to cover things around the house. The uses for handkerchiefs and scarves are truly endless and very personal. In any case, having one or two of these small accessories isn't a problem. When folded into small squares and placed in your bag, they don't take up much space and can be used in case of any unexpected situations, like wiping your bag or yourself on a rainy day. ❍ Photos are taken by the owner under natural sunlight, and lighting may vary depending on the time of day. Color variations are possible. Each handkerchief has individual details and unfolded views, but they cannot be displayed here. Please message me to request them. Due to the unique nature of pre-owned orders, all orders are final and non-refundable. Please review the photos carefully before placing your order. ⋄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋄⋄⋄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋄ | Rating | Brand new, unused | | Dimensions | Scarf: approx. 45-55cm square / Pouch: approx. 15x11x6cm | | Color | / | | Material | Cotton | | Origin | Japan | ⋄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋄⋄⋄┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈⋄ The main reason I love pre-owned bags is that the materials from older eras are vastly superior to those in modern new items. In the past, most pre-owned items were handmade, imbued with the warmth of craftsmanship rather than mass production. The skill of artisans was undoubtedly much more refined than that of machines, much like how everyone appreciates products handcrafted by skilled artisans! However, today, the vast majority of processes are machine-made with minimal human assembly, losing the delicacy of the past. The simplest and most direct way to see this is by comparing the new "revival" versions of vintage monograms with the original vintage monograms; the level of detail in the monogram patterns alone is entirely different. If you love monograms, you must seek out pre-owned items! Truly! In terms of style, older pieces were generally simpler, timeless, and enduring. Many new designs today are actually reproductions of older styles. However, new items are priced higher than their vintage counterparts. New designs are typically based on older models, with added details or design modifications. The final product often ends up being more complex (or peculiar...) than the older versions. I believe as we grow older, we realize that simplicity endures! As one ages, even clothing tends to revert to basic styles because the more fundamental, the more versatile. The quality of raw materials in older pieces is also superior to newer ones. Anyone knowledgeable about leather can tell that the materials used in new items are generally of a lower grade than those in older pieces. This is mainly because the cost of high-quality raw materials is now too high, and their availability is less than before; Earth's resources are dwindling... Furthermore, brands back then weren't as ubiquitous as they are now, with branches everywhere... The customer base typically had a certain income and specific expectations for the finished product. There wasn't the "fast fashion" culture of today; a bag was expected to be used for many years. The difference between new and old eras is clearly visible in the hardware. Many new items' hardware oxidizes and discolors after just a year or two, but vintage pieces typically do not. Besides the use of high-grade materials and meticulous craftsmanship, hardware from earlier eras was often plated with real K-gold! It's worth noting that Chanel Vintage is expensive for a reason; many of its clasps and chains contain real gold, certified by gold merchants! Therefore, even vintage bags from the 60s and 70s, if properly maintained, can still have gleaming hardware today. As for new items available now, based on my knowledge of brands, none of their hardware contains K-gold anymore, making it prone to oxidation. Many people say buying a vintage bag is a form of alternative investment because they rarely depreciate and often appreciate in value. This is because the number of well-preserved pre-owned bags on the market is decreasing, and each one that disappears is gone forever. Remember, each of these is a discontinued item. The number that exists in the world is finite, so they will only become fewer, more expensive, and harder to find. Moreover, many brands increase their prices periodically, and each increase drives up the prices in the pre-owned market. If a brand releases a "reissue," the reference vintage pieces or similar styles will see a sharp price increase! Adding to this, in recent years, Japanese and Korean celebrities have favored vintage items. Once a particular style is seen on a celebrity, its price can skyrocket instantly. This is because, for a period, many people will frantically search for that style or a similar alternative, causing the prices of those few items to multiply... Therefore, vintage is truly a case of "buy early, enjoy longer; buy late, pay more" (this isn't an advertisement slogan... it's a truth in the vintage world...). This is my personal experience; I regret not acquiring certain series earlier, as they are now either impossible to find or available only at exorbitant prices... But the problem is, even knowing it's exorbitant, you're compelled to buy because waiting will only mean higher prices (unless the condition is poor). I am often asked about bag maintenance (ᐢ.ˬ.ᐢ). I will include detailed care instructions on a small note inside the bag, so don't worry. My personal habit is to give them a thorough check and maintenance when I organize my closet at the change of seasons (so each seasonal change is a major undertaking...|||). Actually, pre-owned bags aren't that troublesome. Getting started simply requires getting used to regular maintenance and cherishing your bag. Once you form the habit, it's not difficult. The materials of pre-owned bags are inherently excellent. As long as they are not used roughly and are preserved properly, they can easily last another ten years to be passed down to your daughter! Every pre-owned bag I collect is one I genuinely love, so I hope you will love it too and be able to preserve it for years to come ☪︎ *.。 ☾︎.*·̩͙ If you are interested in purchasing, please message me with any questions.
