Kagerou Vintage Beads and Organza Embroidered Pierced Earrings

Mayfly Earrings The mayfly, with wings as transparent as a dragonfly's. Its fluttering flight, as if dancing through the air, resembles a heat haze (kagerou), hence its name. These earrings express a transparent, quiet, and ephemeral image, like the beautiful wings of a mayfly. To capture the wings' transparency, we chose organza embroidery. Layers of embroidery were applied to the faintly translucent white organza fabric, creating a mosaic pattern with vintage beads and lustrous white thread. All beads are vintage Hiroshima beads made over 50 years ago. Hiroshima beads, once used in Paris collections and haute couture, were crafted by world-renowned master artisans. Unfortunately, with no successors, production has ceased, making them rare, legendary pieces. Generously embroidered with glass beads whose hues have deepened and mellowed over decades, they possess a warm, familiar richness. A subtle, elegant translucency; the three-dimensional play of light captured by the beads with every movement... These earrings are meticulously crafted with unwavering dedication. Each hanmmmo earring design is a new challenge. We progress stitch by stitch, revising repeatedly until we achieve a form that satisfies us completely. While the time-intensive process limits production quantities, it's precisely because these are cherished earrings that we craft them with such dedication.
