There's a small story behind why we decided to represent this brand.
Late in 2024, just before a scheduled business trip to Korea, a sudden lockdown was announced. Fortunately, it was lifted just before our flight, and we arrived safely in Korea. However, we soon found ourselves trapped in a subway car. Protesters were flooding in, pushing us so tightly that we could barely breathe and couldn't move. We were almost lifted off our feet. Inside, we kept asking ourselves, "What do we do? Will this turn into a stampede?" We encouraged each other to stay calm, find ways to breathe, keep our heads up, and most importantly, stand firm to avoid falling. Thankfully, after a few stops, the suffocating crowd all disembarked at Yeouido Station, leaving us shaken and tearful.
A few stops later, as we exited the subway, we unexpectedly stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene poses instantly calmed the tumultuous storm we had just experienced. We, who were still reeling from the shock and fear, felt as if we had firmly returned to solid ground.
It truly made us feel, from the bottom of our hearts, how wonderful it is that cats exist in this world.
Hyejin's cat creations are such treasures.
And so, this unexpected partnership came to be. 🤍

Hyejin's style blends modern sensibilities with traditional Korean techniques, developed through slow, deliberate creation and hand-painting.
We are deeply captivated by the retro and nostalgic feel in her works, reminiscent of the folk painting scrolls from Korea's Joseon Dynasty.

Each stroke meticulously outlines exquisite details, creating artworks that invite prolonged contemplation.
Creating art with traditional Korean craftsmanship requires immense patience. The artist applies delicate layers of color, achieving rich textures and deep, saturated hues.
Even tiny details like butterflies and grasshoppers are rendered with soulful precision.

Each painting captures the essence of cats sharing our space. The artist conveys a message through the cats' unhurried, calm, and quietly companionable presence.
Hyejin frequently holds solo exhibitions in Korea and has been creating art for over a decade.

Hyejin primarily uses her own cats as her muses, depicting them as mischievous yet sharp-eyed, embodying a perfectly spirited and characterful feline. There's a captivating blend of conflict and harmony, a seamless fusion of tradition and modernity.
By incorporating contemporary artistic styles and characters, she portrays the lives and thoughts of animals within traditional art forms.
She utilizes Korean paper, less commonly seen in the market, and meticulous brushwork techniques. This paper lends a warm overall tone to the artwork, while the refined linear details ensure exquisite intricacy.

This warmth and unique combination create a harmonious contemporary painting style.
