【Impression Dynasty・Chun Shui Tang Gao Piao Teapot】
Dynasty: Early Qing / Material: Zhu Sha (Red Clay) / Capacity: 120cc
The Gao Piao teapot, originally created by the renowned "Chun Shui Tang" studio in the Qing Dynasty.
Its shape is unique, with a rounded, full belly, an exceptionally long neck, and a stable, circular foot, giving it a stretched and grand proportion.
The flat, inset lid fits snugly, topped by a dome-shaped knob that sits elegantly, creating a novel and exquisite form.
The three-bend spout curves upward, echoing the horizontally extended handle, differing from traditional ear-shaped handles, and crafting an air of refined elegance, spaciousness, and grandeur.
The lid, knob, neck, body, belly, and foot all transition smoothly with cylindrical curves, creating a distinct rhythm and a connected flow, forming a cohesive whole. The Zhu Sha clay body has a warm luster, appearing even more ancient and elegant under the light.
This style of Gao Piao teapot possesses both a solemn and substantial structure and a tall, handsome posture, standing out among the various ceramic styles of the early Qing Dynasty.
Chun Shui Tang was an important teapot-making studio during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Many of their pieces were custom-made for scholars and literati, and surviving works often feature enduring inscriptions and meticulous craftsmanship.
The Gao Piao teapot is among their superior works, demonstrating both practical daily use and a high integration of aesthetics and craftsmanship.
