The green of celadon is elegant and subtle, its shades like clouds and mist, with a luster like jade; Legend has it that the poet emperor Song Huizong described this very green as: "Like the sky after rain, where clouds break apart; create such a color." ................... For over 30 years, Fu Chang Kiln has quietly focused on firing celadon and monochrome glazes, presenting celadon glazes that are as warm as jade, as clear as ice crystals, and as smooth and delicate as congealed fat. Paired with classic shapes, handcrafted wooden handles, and unique glazing techniques, we hope to integrate the elegant celadon aesthetics, imbued with scholarly sentiment, into everyday tableware. ................... |About Each Piece| All pottery from Fu Chang Kiln is handcrafted, so minor variations in detail are inevitable for each piece. During the kiln firing process, unpredictable elements like ash deposits or iron specks may appear, forming unique patterns, which become the exclusive mark of each individual piece. If you have specific requirements regarding details, please let us know, and we will provide photos for your confirmation before shipping. ................. |About Fu Chang Kiln's Crazing Patterns| We pursue simplicity, so we intentionally create a single layer of crazing. Visually, after maturation, these cracks will resemble the shell of a tea-marbled egg. These patterns form as the piece cools in the kiln and will continue to evolve; they are not fixed. Before maturation, you can use your phone's flashlight to view the general direction of the crack patterns. Such crazing does not affect functionality. As you use the piece, colors will seep into the cracks: Black lines are called "iron wire" patterns, ochre lines are "eel blood" patterns, and brown lines are known as "gold thread"; their varied appearance imbues each piece with vitality. ................. |Precautions| -Fu Chang Kiln pottery is fired at a high temperature of 1240°C and can be safely cleaned with a scouring pad or placed in a dishwasher. (This excludes products with wooden handles; wooden parts must be kept dry.) -Pottery made from a single material can be used in an oven or a rice cooker for heating. -Pottery is fragile and will be carefully packaged before shipment.
