The artist's mastery lies in precisely controlling the thickness of each glaze application and firing it at 1260°C. Over 20 hours of intense heat transform the glazes within the kiln, allowing them to contract and flow, creating the mesmerizing patterns and fluid movement reminiscent of peacock feathers. The challenge in its creation lies in the delicate balance of glaze thickness and temperature control. A glaze too thin or fired at insufficient temperature will fail to yield the "peacock display" pattern. Conversely, a glaze too thick or fired at excessive temperature can cause the glaze to run onto the accompanying plate, potentially fusing the cup and plate together. Even ambient temperature fluctuations can influence the final outcome. Despite years of dedicated practice, the subtle variations remain unpredictable, making each completed piece a testament to its rarity and value.
