This piece transforms a charming fairy cameo into a versatile accessory, usable as both a brooch and a necklace. The cameo itself is crafted from acrylic resin. Unlike traditional shell or stone cameos, which rely on carving, this acrylic version allows for incredibly fine details that would be impossible to achieve through carving alone, especially within such a small area. It's reminiscent of an illustration from a miniature book. The delicate artwork evokes the enchanting fairy illustrations of Cicely Mary Barker, reminiscent of the collectible cards once found in chocolate boxes in Japan. The design depicts a fairy seated against a backdrop of dahlia-like flowers, with beautifully rendered wings that resemble those of a swallowtail butterfly. The cameo itself is generously sized at 4cm x 3cm, ensuring that the intricate details are fully visible and enjoyable. For scale, the sixth image shows the cameo on a tray roughly the size of an adult woman's hand, and the seventh image places it alongside a person for a near life-size comparison. Equipped with both a brooch pin and a loop on the back, it seamlessly transitions between a brooch and a pendant. The loop is designed to be small, so we've included a necklace chain with an easy-to-use lobster clasp, which also features a cute heart shape for a touch of charm when visible. For added security when worn as a necklace, the brooch pin can also be fastened to prevent excessive movement. The brooch pin is a sturdy type with a rotating lock. To ensure durability, both the pin and the loop have been soldered and plated, rather than simply glued. The metal hardware is gold-toned. The current batch features a base color with a more grayish, blue-leaning purple hue compared to previous versions (see images 2-3). A silicone brooch stopper is included for your peace of mind and secure wear.
