Small Yunomi in Grayish-White Clay and Light Blue Glaze

This yunomi is made from a subtly greyish-white ceramic, featuring striking small speckles. It is formed into a rounded, compact shape, and then fired with a transparent glaze to enhance the natural beauty of the clay. A pale blue transparent glaze is layered over the rim, creating a flowing pattern as it bakes. When cradled in both hands, the cup's curves nestle comfortably in your palms. The interior, from the mid-point down to the base, has a whiter hue, allowing you to enjoy the colors of transparent beverages like sencha green tea or black tea. It's also perfect for serving puddings or coffee jelly, or as a vessel for ice cream. We hope you enjoy it with your favorite drinks or dishes. The creation process, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, is entirely handcrafted using a small electric kiln and potter's wheel in our home studio. While we cannot produce in large quantities, each piece has its own unique character, offering a distinct charm that comes from being handmade. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. The base of the cup is gently sanded to ensure it is kind to your table surfaces. Please note that the color may appear slightly bluish in the soft light of morning or on a cloudy day, and more yellowish in the natural light of midday or evening, or under indoor lighting. The appearance of the color may vary depending on the light source. Additionally, there is a small bubble mark (a raised area from the glaze) on the exterior of the cup. We explore various glazes and clays, seeking the best combinations, and create a diverse range of pottery in various colors and shapes. Therefore, we treat our ceramics with a food-safe waterproofing agent before shipping, so there is no need for initial seasoning (medome). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, which is why we allow 5 days from order to shipment. If you do not require the waterproofing treatment, please notify us at the time of purchase. - Due to the characteristics of the glaze, the color may appear whiter under morning light or white light, and more reddish or yellowish under evening light or warm-toned lamps. - Cutlery shown in product images is not included. - While we strive to photograph and edit product images to be as true to life as possible, please understand that colors may appear different depending on your monitor settings and lighting conditions. - As this item is also sold on other platforms, in the event of overlapping purchases, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase process first.
