Artist A-Chuan's 127th Watercolor - "Wave Boat in the Misty Light" (Inspired by an internet photograph) Double Elephant (540 x 390 mm) October 6, 2025 Sunlight filters through the morning mist, casting a gentle glow upon the gently rippling river. A solitary boat seems to dance with the misty light, whispering to the water's surface as it glides slowly through the tranquil landscape. All is hushed, save for the serene reflection of the boat, dreamlike and ethereal. The night before completion, I found myself drifting between dreams and the canvas. The interplay of light and shadow in the woods, the mist, and the flowing ripples repeatedly appeared in my dreams, each element finding its place on the paper. It felt as though the painting was progressing on its own, and I was merely following its rhythm. Upon waking and viewing the artwork, the imagined "immortal in the dream" had not, after all, taken up the brush for me overnight. Everything remained as it was. Yet, remarkably, by following the sequence and feelings that emerged in my dream, the painting was completed with exceptional smoothness. "Wave Boat in the Misty Light" was born from this creative journey, existing somewhere between wakefulness and dreams.
