| WHY REBIRTH? |

As exhibition viewing becomes a trend, the high frequency of curatorial activities in the city symbolizes Taiwan’s cultural momentum growing year by year. Every exhibition that only lasts for 3-5 days, after the exhibition is dismantled, where do these main visual outputs that symbolize cultural scenery go? Incinerators? Fish ponds? Or the waste that takes up a lot of storage space in the exhibition execution unit? However, where The main visual of an exhibition is not the brainchild of a creative person? The REBIRTH project is about to give it a second life!

Since the passage of the Culture and Creativity Law in 2010, cultural activities across Taiwan have flourished, especially in Taipei City, which has increased at an average annual growth rate of 116% (from 340 events in 2009 to 1,355 events in 2019). Calculated based on the total number of activities in the venues under the Taipei City Cultural and Creative Foundation, more than 4.7 Songyan Cultural and Creative Parks have accumulated in the past 10 years. If calculated based on the cultural activities organized by the Ministry of Culture across Taiwan, the cultural output in the past 10 years has accumulated to an area equivalent to 357 pine trees. Has going to exhibitions become fast fashion?!
