Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio's creations are not about mass production. Each piece possesses a unique concept and design, bringing life to the process of pure hand-pinching or wheel throwing. Every work is one-of-a-kind. Our pottery is created by both of us, hence the "Ping" or "Fan" signatures. Some pieces bear the "Xiao Ping Fan Pottery Studio" seal, making them truly unique!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Taiwanese Miaoli clay for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
American, Japanese, and Miaoli clays are kneaded in different proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-pinching (no pottery wheel) to slowly form the shape. After basic shaping, the body lines are refined, followed by sanding to complete the greenware.
Once in the kiln, it undergoes a continuous five-day, four-night wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. Temperatures reach over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this process, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's fire marks flow across the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame patterns.
After five days and four nights of ash and fire mark interplay, a week of cooling is required before each piece achieves its beautiful form! Due to the varying kiln atmosphere during each firing, the ash deposits and fire marks on every piece are unique, making each work irreplicably one-of-a-kind!

**3. What should guests be aware of?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. The works are handcrafted, so they will naturally show traces of the making process. Minor variations may occur due to the firing process; slight imperfections in the rim or small scratches from creation are normal and do not affect normal use. We appreciate your understanding!
