After being transliterated into Cantonese in Hong Kong as "Dik Dik Leung," its literal meaning, easy to remember and understand, sparked the imagination of many. They mistakenly believed that wearing "Dacron" would be particularly cooling, when in fact, this synthetic fiber fabric has poor breathability. However, as a coveted imported good back then, this perceived "coolness" at least implied a sense of vanity-driven coolness from possessing something unique. For anyone who grew up in a Cantonese-speaking region, the term "Dacron" has, overtly or subtly, woven itself into the fabric of life. - I believe many Cantonese people sincerely think that the saying "A calm mind naturally brings coolness" is utter nonsense. In an era when electric fans were rare, the summer heat was so oppressive it made one unable to stop smoking. I distinctly remember only experiencing "a calm mind bringing coolness" once, and that was thanks to my grandmother fanning me all night with a large palm fan.
