These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from ceramics by Fukukikama, a kiln in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, known for its Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery. We reuse broken or chipped ceramic pieces that would otherwise be discarded, applying Kintsugi to transform them into accessories. Our concept is to create modern accessories that connect to the future, allowing people to feel closer to nature and Japan's enduring traditions, while breathing new life and possibilities into these materials. We've paired elegant ceramic fragments, adorned with hand-painted floral designs, with parts resembling crystal formations. The sides of the ceramic pieces are finished with Kintsugi, allowing the gold to beautifully catch the light from any angle and adding a touch of refined elegance. These pieces are perfect as a stylish accent for both casual and elegant outfits. Length: Ceramic fragment: 15 x 10mm. Total length: 35mm. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi using natural lacquer from the urushi tree, this method uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
