Coarse white earthenware clay that makes the glaze color stand out. A pale, subtly muted blue-gray glaze with beautiful fine crackles. This rimmed small plate was created by combining these elements. The small plate, with its generous twelve petals, possesses a frill-like cuteness, yet also conveys a rustic charm with the visible marks of the maker's hands. Its calm colors can be paired with both savory dishes and desserts. Perfect for pickles, kinpira, rolled omelets, cherry tomatoes, dressed dishes, or simmered hijiki seaweed. The creation process involves preparing the clay, shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing all by hand, using a small electric kiln and electric potter's wheel at home. While mass production is not possible, each piece has its own unique character, and you can enjoy the subtle nuances that come from being handmade. The item you receive will be the same as pictured. The base of the plate has been sanded to minimize scratching your table. We explore various glazes and clays, seeking the best combinations, and create pottery in a wide range of colors and shapes. For this reason, we treat our tableware with a water-stopping agent before shipping, so there is no need for initial glazing (me-dame). As the water-stopping treatment takes 2-3 days, we set the shipping period to 5 days from the order date. If you do not require the water-stopping treatment, please let us know at the time of purchase. - We strive to photograph and edit product images to be as true to the actual product as possible, but please understand that colors may appear different depending on your monitor environment and lighting conditions. - As we also sell on other sites, in the rare event that purchases overlap, priority will be given to the customer who completes the purchase procedure first.
