|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"One cultivates jade for three years, and jade nourishes one for a lifetime."
Crystals possess powerful energy fields but require regular cleansing. Jadeite is a natural hard jade, known for its gentle and soft properties. While its energy field may not be as strong as crystals, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally clean and pure. It is believed to exert only beneficial influences and dissipate negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as calcium (Ca), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron. [2]
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains elemental manganese.
Blue: Similar to green but rarer than other colors.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with calcium also present in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions, playing a crucial role in all stages of growth and development, from infancy to adulthood and old age. It is an indispensable macronutrient for human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is essential for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases and regulate blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it and must obtain it through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with type 2 diabetes, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. It aids overweight individuals in managing cholesterol and blood sugar. Those under high stress experience faster chromium depletion than average, making it particularly important for these groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an indispensable trace element for the human body. Adults typically contain 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily found in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel mostly excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another protective trace element found in the human body, and jadeite also contains it. Long-term wear of jadeite is believed to promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macronutrient essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, with both elements working synergistically. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so a deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can increase chronic inflammation, linked to the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower cardiovascular mortality rates. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels reduces the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also require iron to function smoothly.
Medical research suggests jadeite possesses significant therapeutic capabilities. Long-term wear is believed not only to prevent illnesses but also to alleviate or even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant is thought to help. The jadeite pendant emits energy that stimulates the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, providing a potentially curative effect through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to possess properties that "clear internal heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair, strengthen the five organs, calm the spirit, clear blood vessels, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in various organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are thus absorbed by the body, nourishing women's skin and imparting a fairer and more radiant complexion.
Cooling Relief: Jadeite's naturally cool characteristic offers a soothing and cooling sensation. During the Tang Dynasty, Consort Yang Guifei was known to place jade in her mouth during summers to alleviate heat. Since then, summer has been associated with cool respite. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are all utilized for their cooling properties.
The above are scientifically-supported reasons for valuing jadeite. Another, less tangible reason, is the inexplicable sense of comfort and healing derived from looking at jadeite when feeling down or stressed, offering a sense of solace.
