Freshwater pearls originate from freshwater mussels, with each mussel producing a maximum of 10 pearls. Unlike saltwater pearls, freshwater pearls, while their luster may be slightly less than that of saltwater pearls, are nurtured by the oyster and are therefore still precious. Just as a person's life, though filled with many difficulties, trials, and pains, is like sand stimulating the oyster, it also gives rise to pearls. Each of us is like a pearl.
