When we wear gemstones, we resonate with their energy, making __regular gemstone cleansing essential__. It is recommended to establish a habit of cleansing your gemstones, perhaps on the 1st of each month or during the full moon (the 15th of the lunar calendar). There are many methods for cleansing gemstones, with detailed explanations available in books and online. While soaking in salt water is often mentioned, some gemstones and metals are delicate and can be damaged by salt or water. Therefore, Joyce personally advises against soaking in salt water. If you have white/purple crystal chips, geodes, or clusters, you can place your gemstones directly inside or on top of them when not wearing them. Of course, the cleansing chips, geodes, and clusters themselves should also be cleansed regularly, for example, through sunlight or moonlight exposure. Joyce finds __smudging to be the most effective__! You can light sage, dried cedar leaves, dried mugwort, or incense sticks and **use the smoke for purification**.
