Plate of lotus pond in morning mist

Pottery, handmade, hand-painted, one-of-a-kind Length 20.5cm Width 21.5cm Thickness 1cm This plate features a design that evokes a lotus pond in the morning mist and the rising sun. The clay is redder than ordinary red clay and is then hand-painted with decorative mud, after which it is painted and lines are carved into it with the tip of a sword to finish it off. A thin layer of glossy transparent glaze is applied, but the engraved lines give it an uneven, rough feel. The red clay is rolled out thickly and flat, then roughly cut into a square shape, and finished in that shape to create a sturdy plate that is somewhat heavy. *Unlike porcelain, pottery (earthenware) has a soft, warm ceramic surface. Also, there may be pinholes (holes in the glaze) or small chips in the glaze which do not affect the use of the product, but we hope that you will consider these to be part of the unique character of earthenware and add to its charm. This is the unique imperfect beauty, or charm, of earthenware. Since pottery is made from clay, when you hold it in your hands it gives a more rustic impression than it does in pictures. However, that's only at the beginning, and once you get used to it, you'll start to appreciate the quality of the real thing, its texture and simplicity. *The color of the actual product may not be exactly the same as the image, depending on the device you are using. I adjust images and list items on my PC, but they seem to look more vivid on my smartphone. Recently, we have been trying to match the colors to those on smartphones, but please be aware that there may be differences in color between the image and the actual product.
