In classical Chinese, the character "系" (xì) is synonymous with "繫" (jì), meaning to tie or connect.
"Red cords were used to bind the feet of couples, and when they sat, they were subtly bound together.
Even between families of enemies, regardless of wealth or status, or if they were separated by vast distances,
once this cord was tied, they could never escape their destiny."
The legend of the Matchmaker Deity originated in the story "Dinghun Dian" from "Xu Xuanguai Lu" by Li Fuyan during the Tang Dynasty.
In the story, the young man Wei Gu, guided by the old man's matchmaking,
eventually married the daughter of the vegetable seller, whom the old man had spoken of years prior.
This passage suggests that men and women bound by a red cord, regardless of whether they were enemies, had vastly different social standings, or were separated by thousands of miles, would ultimately become husband and wife.
**:: Two Beads ::**
The Matchmaker Series draws inspiration from the benevolent legend of the Matchmaker Deity.
Two Palo Santo beads are tied to the ends of the bracelet, forming a loop and connecting with each other.
__This symbolizes the invisible thread of destiny that connects two people,__
winding through mountains and rivers, ultimately leading to a lifelong union.
__In Tibetan Buddhism, the Vajra knot symbolizes the removal of obstacles, protection, and sacred Dharma items.__
The main cord is woven with a delicate four-strand braid, finished with a Vajra knot that connects with Buddhist principles. Blessings are woven into the waxed cord knot by knot.
When worn, especially when entering places with low frequencies or crowded, energetically complex environments,
it offers protective and blessing power, bringing spiritual stability and happiness to sensitive individuals like yourself and those around you.
**:: Peruvian Inca Palo Santo ::**

__Made with genuine 8mm Peruvian Palo Santo carnelian beads, each retaining its unique natural wood grain.__
__Rich in Palo Santo's natural oils, it emits a warm, comforting redwood aroma.__
Palo Santo possesses a tranquil, grounding strength and is a sacred plant from the Inca Empire in Central and South America.
The Spanish name "Palo Santo" literally means "holy wood."
Historically revered in sacred spaces and rituals in the West,
its uses are widespread, second only to white sage.
It is believed that Palo Santo has the power to transform energy and provide protection,
connecting the body, mind, and spirit, and purifying spaces.
**:: Blessing at Taipei Xiahai Chenghuang Temple ::**
While preparing the Matchmaker Series (Palo Santo Bracelet), I was reminded of how, during a time of romantic confusion, I received a red thread from the Matchmaker Deity and have now been with my husband for 16 years.
This inspired me to arrange a special small trip to Taipei with my daughter.
I brought my materials and visited the Xiahai Chenghuang Temple in Taipei to pay respects and have them blessed by the incense burner.
At the time, my daughter was only 6 years old but steadily held her DSLR camera to capture the blessing ceremony for me (the first photo).
Since then, I have established a tradition at "Shanshan You Huayuan" (My Garden at the Foot of the Mountain) where __all newly purchased cords are taken to the Taipei Xiahai Chenghuang Temple for incense blessings__.
**The Taipei Xiahai Chenghuang Temple**, located on Dihua Street, not only enshrines the Matchmaker Deity but also the main deity, Chenghuang Lord Xiahai, in the main hall.
It is attended by various deities including the Eight Generals and Eight Department Officials. The main Buddha's shrine primarily enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva, along with Bodhidharma, Maudgalyayana, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, Maitreya Buddha, the Earth God, and Lord Guan, among others.

**/ Brand Origin /**
Initially, I used a mala of 108 Palo Santo beads for my morning and evening Buddhist chanting. I also carried it with me when I went out, and the lingering scent of Palo Santo brought me peace.
My daughter often played with my mala and loved its scent. So, one day, I used extra Palo Santo beads to make a bracelet for her. Seeing her reluctant to take it off, even wearing it to school, felt like I was sending my companionship with her. This inspired me to share this fragrant blessing and prayer with more people.
**⫯⫰**
At the foot of the mountain, there is a garden.
In the garden, there is a tree hollow, and in the tree hollow, there is light.
I have a mountain in my heart, and for years I have felt an urgent need to escape everything and return to the mountain.
At the foot of the mountain, a garden bloomed, nurturing me. Many years later, a tree hollow grew, and gradually, light appeared.
From then on, I no longer had such a strong need to return to the mountain. I am the mountain, I am the tree, I am the light.
If you pass by, feel free to come in and take a little, or talk. We can illuminate each other.
Wishing peace and freedom to everyone who wears this bracelet ♡
