What forms do they take? **Author's Preface** The Origin of "Rainbow Cloud" Creation / Sincerely Accepting the Different Colors and States of Life I once secretly made a small wish: to transition from sharing picture books to creating them. I never imagined this wish would finally come true. I remember on the first picture book creation class, I asked the teacher if I could use photographs instead of drawings, feeling that taking pictures was easier for me than drawing. The teacher looked at me firmly and said, "No, this is a picture book creation class. You must present your ideas in a way that you can." Having ideas but being unable to draw, I felt this was my greatest challenge. Fortunately, with teacher Chen Lu-hsi's persistence and encouragement, I tried using the pastel techniques I had learned, and finally completed this work I had long imagined. "Rainbow Cloud" is a story about "connection." As a daughter and a mother, I am grateful to my mother in heaven for teaching me what love is, and I am grateful to my daughter for teaching me how to love. During the period when my mother passed away from cancer, my life experienced many different colors. I was sad, grieved, lost, and helpless. It was only in recent years that I realized, this is all me. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet... every different emotion and state is a true manifestation of life.
